Some rewarding forest ‘zen’ time…

Bliss is a mental health day out in nature… In Japan, there is a practice called ‘forest bathing’ (shinrin-yoku): Shinrin in Japanese means “forest,” and yoku means “bath.”
Starting in New Hope, PA, we walked 8 miles along canal-side forest trails, truly immersing ourselves in nature, a very calming and relaxing way to clear our minds and rest our senses. Towards the end of the walk, near Lambertville, we were rewarded by the fascinating sight of this abandoned rail car, covered in some amazing graffiti, with the trees reclaiming the space as their own. It was both eerie and fascinating, and an ideal place to do some photography which hopefully can yield some portfolio additions.
Topping it all off was seeing our good friend Colby from the Braking AIDS Ride along the way.
Then indulging in fabulous ice cream at owowcow creamery in Lambertville, NJ where we ended the round-trip. Caramel-Apple, Lemon-Ginger and honey-lavender flavors in a Chocolate waffle cone… OMG, so good. All the ingredients for this decadently awesome ice cream is locally sourced too. Love that they care enough to support those around them!
