Paris Rooftops

On a visit to the Pompadour Center in Paris, the home of all things modern, the contrasting view across the old city really caught my eye, with the rooftops of Paris covered in a maze of terracotta chimneys from the homes, cafés and local businesses in the area.

It captures the village type soul and atmosphere of the neighborhoods, with everyone living in close quarters on top of each other, centuries back in those places.

The chimneys, while probably no longer used, and long since replaced by new ways of heating a home or building, still lend an air of charm to the Parisian rooftops.
