All Sewn Up
All Saints was established in 1994 and opened its first stand-alone store in London in 1997, and now it has stores all over the world. This particular image depicts the storefront in New York City’s Meat Packing district.
One of signature props used in the front and throughout the stores is the Sewing Machine.
I have many childhood memories of my Mother working away on her sewing machine making curtains, dresses for herself and outfits for my brothers and me. She was a really talented seamstress who loved the creations she made.
As can be seen in some of my other works, I am fascinated by reflections and depth in photos: the superficial and what is behind that… and the photo of this store window is a perfect example of that.
