New York City is a city under constant metamorphosis, changing and revitalizing old neighborhoods.

This image was taken around the lower 30’s on the West Side of Manhattan, where the new Hudson Rail Yards have grown from an underutilized area of the city, like a modern day phoenix rising up.

In the foreground is the construction rubble and debris, with the skyline not yet populated by the many monolithic skyscrapers that now dominate.

The area now houses much sought after retail space, and also a vast entertainment venue with a massive retractable roof, for year-round performances.
