Web of Struts

The reconstruction of the World Trade Center in downtown New York City included a new under-street pedestrian walkway leading from the new Oculus transit hub to the World Financial Center with the Winter Garden atrium and mall.

At the top of the escalators leading into the building, the support columns are adorned with an interwoven lattice of struts, giving a web-like feel, shown in this photographic detail.
